The timeline is the full sequence of a video in premiere pro, it includes all the video footage and Audio, it also contains different adjustments layer which can be used to add color and other effects.
After sorting each scene by selecting the best shots, I imported all the footage into Premiere Pro and started creating the basic timeline. After creating the basic timeline, I started searching, collecting, and even recording sound effects for the visuals because I had planned not to use the audio from the camera. I collected all external sound effects, such as background ambiance, footsteps, phone ringing, etc. However, I also had to rerecord the audio of certain scenes, such as book flipping, taking the phone, or packing the bag. These sounds came directly from the visuals and I knew it will be time-consuming to find sound effects for these so instead I rerecorded them in the night in my room. I had to record the same audio 5-10 times to get the right timing for each scene.
Post collecting and recording sound effects, I added them and matched them with the visuals. The next stage in Post-production was to dub the dialogues. I invited all the actors and did the dubbing using an earphone mic because I didn't have access to a proper microphone, and didn't get the chance to record at the studio in our school because of Covid 19. However, post dubbing, I added audio effects such as Mastering, Parametric equalizer, Multimedia compressor, hard limiter, de reverb, and denoise to increase the quality of the sound. Majorly I had applied de-reverb and de-noise to all the audio because we recorded in a closed room and there was a lot of ego in the audio, adding those effects reduced the ego and the background noise from the audio.
After adding all the audio components of the project, I improvised on the timeline. I created J-cuts and L-cuts using the video and audio so that it created a seamless conversation between the characters and the film flowed perfectly. Not adjusting the timeline without J-cut and L-cut made all the dialogues split out and it didn't give a seamless effect.
Below are different screenshots of how timeline progressed.
So far I had created the basic timeline, which includes all the footages along with the camera audio. Which I didn't use.
Here's the whole timeline which includes all the visuals and audio. It includes all the external sound effects and dubbed dialogues.
