AS level experience?
My experience of the AS level Media Studies was a lot fun creating my media text. In AS level I had two option of Film Opening or Magazine task out of which I had chosen Film Opening. After creating my media product I was fully aware of the process of creating a media text. I had learnt about Pre-production, Production and Post-production and what has to be done in each stage.
Apart from the practical part of the course I had also gained theory knowledge about Media. The theory topics included such as Media Ownership, Distribution of Media Product, Understating audience and etc.
Introduction to A level syllabus
We just had our first online Media class and our media teacher had taken us for a tour through the syllabus. The coursework tasks included Music promotion video, Film promotion video package, Documentary film or Short film. Where the theory concepts consisted of Media regulations, Postmodern media, Power & Media and Media ecology. Since the coursework has four options I think it very flexible and broad for us to explore. Where the theory concepts seem interesting to learn about.
My thoughts on the coursework topic!
I am a aspiring Film Maker and I want to do something related to it. I had already given a thought on what I want to do for the coursework but because of COVID-19 I may have to reconsider my choice. I had thought of choosing Short Film because I had completely enjoyed making the film opening for AS level and wanted make a whole short film. But these are difficult times and I don't even know when I will be able to go out, this thought pulls me back from thinking of a script, location and etc. So lets see if the situations gets better I will be able to do a short film or else I will have to jump to another option which would be convenient for the situation.
